October Events

October is packed with opportunities to get outside, celebrate with friends and family, and capture memories at the studio. Mark your calendars!

Color Belt Ceremony

Friday, October 9 · 6:00–6:40 p.m.

Join us for our Color Belt Ceremony! I’ll share a few words and preview the future of EKA’s curriculum. We’ll hand out belts and certificates, then wrap up with photos.

Please note: The All Belts & All Ages class will not be held due to the ceremony.

Take a Hike Day: Stonewall Peak

Saturday, October 17
Meet at 9:30 a.m. · Hike starts at 10:00 a.m.
East County · Weather permitting

Join us for a hike up Stonewall Peak, about an hour’s drive from the studio. The trail ends with a rewarding view, and the hike is expected to take about 4–5 hours. Please plan for the $10 parking fee.

Halloween Week

Monday, October 26–Friday, October 30

One of our favorite events is back! Students are welcome to invite friends and family to join them for classes in costume. Each Halloween Week class will include self-defense instruction, games, and an obstacle course. We’ll also hold a costume contest, with a treat for every participating student and a bigger treat for the contest winners!

Photo Day

Tuesday, October 27, from 3:00–7:00 p.m

A professional photographer will take our annual photos, which will be featured on the 2026 yearly plaque. Students and parents can sign up at the studio for a photo time slot. All participants must wear their full uniform for photos. Since Photo Day falls during Halloween Week, we will not hold Halloween Week activities that day.

Looking Ahead: Biannual Black Belt Testing

Saturday, November 7
Boot Campers: 9:30 a.m. · Black Belts: 10:00 a.m.
Expected to end around 2:00–3:00 p.m.

We look forward to cheering on our students at the biannual Black Belt Testing. Please plan for the event to run into the afternoon.
