April Updates, Events & Upcoming Black Belt Testing

Dear Students and Parents,

As we head into April, we have several important updates, schedule changes, and exciting events happening at Evolution Kickboxing Academy.

Class Changes & Closures

  • Wednesdays at 6:10 PM (April Only)

    This class will transition into a Black Belt Prep Class for students preparing for the Black Belt Evaluation or Degree Testing on May 2nd.

  • Spring Break Closure

    The studio will be closed from April 6th – April 8th

    Classes will resume on Thursday, April 9th

April Monthly Meditation: “Embrace Your Weird”

This month’s theme is all about embracing your individuality and authenticity. In Tae Kwon Do philosophy, your uniqueness helps shape your own fighting style and connects directly to one of our core tenets: Integrity—being honest with yourself and others.

When you stay true to who you are, you show confidence, pride, and self-respect.

To celebrate this, we’ll be hosting a fun “Weird Week!” where each day (Monday–Friday) will have a unique theme. More details will be shared soon, but here are a few examples:

  • Anything BUT Uniform Day

  • Tethered Day

  • Crazy Hair Day

  • And more!

Black Belt Degree Testing & Evaluation – May 2nd

Our Biannual Black Belt Testing will take place on Saturday, May 2nd. This is a major milestone where Red Stripe Boot Campers and Black Belts will be challenged to push beyond their perceived limits and build new levels of confidence as they work toward their next rank.

Current Testing Schedule (May 2nd):

  • 9:30 AM – Boot Campers (Red Stripes)

  • 10:00 AM – Degree Testing

  • 11:00 AM – Black Belt Evaluation

  • Testing will conclude between 1:00–2:00 PM

Invitations will be sent out 2–3 weeks prior to testing.

Students preparing for this event are highly encouraged to take advantage of the Wednesday 6:10 PM Black Belt Prep Classes throughout April.
